By far the smallest of the villages
covered in this section is Fontana. It only really boasts a very pretty
church, a good taverna and a kafenio which also acts as a shop and
bakery.
It is well situated for exploring the island as it is fairly central and
is located on the road from Gaios to Loggos.
There are roads from the village leading down to the beaches below and
perhaps one of the most popular of Paxiot beaches, that of Kaki Legada,
is not far away down the very steep hill past the reservoir on the road
to Gaios and the harbour.
There are no places to exchange money here and no real signs of the 21st
century (or even the 20th) which is one of its main attractions.
It is a pretty village with some lovely walks and properties and is
worth exploring if you have time.
