Magazia is really a hamlet rather than
a village but it does have a mini-market and a couple of tavernas, along
with a bar. There is really just one road, the road linking Gaios and
Lakka that passes through the village, but you can also get to the west
coast which is popular in the evenings for the sunset.
Magazia is also the location of one of the latest finds on the island -
three graves dating from pre 600AD. Hopefully these will one day be
studied and we will find out more about them.
The village is a good central location for exploring the whole island as
nowhere is far from here, whether it be the beaches of the east coast,
the wild scenery of the west coast or the other villages of Gaios, Lakka,
or Loggos.
